How this works, and what it will not do
Every answer on this page is a direct quotation from the university's own housing pages, with a link so you can read it in context. We do not interpret it, score it or summarise it, because the wording is where the exceptions live — a school that bans "space heaters" may permit a heated mattress pad in the very next sentence.
Where a school publishes nothing, this page says so. That is a real answer too: it means the rule is not written down anywhere public, and the only way to be sure is to ring the housing office before you buy.
Covering — universities so far, from each school's own published housing policies. Snapshot: August 2026. Rules change every year — always confirm on the source page before you spend money.
What you'll need instead
When something is prohibited, the useful question is what to buy in its place. Our dorm shop is organised by category, and every school page lists the room's actual dimensions so you buy the right size the first time.
