Room dimensions are only half the story — here is what Kennesaw State actually charges to live on campus, what shows up in the room before you unpack, and the appliance rules that decide what you can bring.

Heads up — this school breaks the usual rules

  • KSU is split between two bed sizes. Twin XL in Hornet Village, Howell, The Summit, University Columns, UV Suites and KSU Place II — but FULL XL in Austin, University Commons, University Courtyard, KSU Place I and University Village single bedrooms.
  • Microwaves are not permitted at all in Howell Hall, Hornet Village or The Summit. Elsewhere the limit is one 750-watt microwave per unit.
  • Mini-fridges are capped at 4 cubic feet, and several communities already include a full-size fridge and microwave — check before buying.

Who has to live on campusFirst-year students in Marietta-campus majors must live on campus; exemptions for students 21+, living with a parent, married, with dependents, in the Armed Forces, or transferring 30+ credits. No requirement on the Kennesaw campus.
What's already in the roomBed, dresser, desk and desk chair in every room — housing tells students to leave beds, lofting kits, dressers and desks at home. Apartment and suite communities add a living room and kitchen; several include a full-size fridge and microwave.
Fridge & microwave rulesSome communities include a microwave and full-size fridge. Elsewhere: one mini-fridge up to 4 cubic feet per student and one 750-watt microwave per unit — microwaves are NOT permitted in Howell Hall, Hornet Village or The Summit.
