Tulane University Off-Campus Housing Guide (2026)

Tulane requires two years on campus, so juniors and seniors head off campus — usually in groups of 3–5 splitting a house.

Where students live

Uptown around campus: the Maple St/Zimpel St/Broadway blocks, the Freret St corridor, and Audubon/Black Pearl. Leases turn over fast each spring.

Almost no purpose-built student towers Uptown — students rent shotgun doubles and halves of houses from local landlords. Campus Rentals LLC is one of the biggest student-focused operators and furnishes its units. Larger complexes are mostly downtown near the medical campus.
