The University of Texas at Austin does not print room dimensions on its hall pages — official floor plans exist per hall in UT Housing’s floor-plan directory — so this page covers what UT does publish: room types, beds, bathrooms and furnishings for the major halls, plus 2026–27 rates. Two things set UT Austin apart from most campuses we cover: every room comes with a MicroFridge and microwave already provided, and the published rates include a full meal plan.
Jester West
Jester West has 14 floors and houses approximately 1,200 residents. Room types run from standard doubles with community bath up to triples and premium singles with private bath. Every room is furnished with a lofted Twin XL bed with dresser and cabinet underneath, desk and chair, open closet with shelving and rod, bookshelf, and a MicroFridge with microwave. All furniture is moveable and can be lofted or bunked.

Jester East
Jester East has 10 floors and houses approximately 1,200 residents, with study rooms and laundry on each floor plus a TV lounge and a 24-hour quiet study lounge. Room types include doubles (community, connecting or private bath), singles and premium singles. Each room comes with lofted Twin XL beds, desks and chairs, a closet with shelving and rod, a bookshelf, one MicroFridge with microwave, and — in the majority of rooms — an in-room sink.

Duren Hall
Duren offers doubles, premium singles, triples and quads — and every room type has a private bathroom (the quad’s is wheelchair-accessible, with two MicroFridges instead of one). Rooms have lofted Twin XL beds with dressers and cabinets underneath, desks and chairs, open closets, bookshelves, wall-mounted shelving and individually controlled air conditioning. Each floor has its own study room, and the hall has a game room, an exercise room and a private courtyard framed around a century-old live oak.

San Jacinto Hall
San Jacinto is all doubles (standard and ADA wheelchair-accessible), each with a private bathroom with single-basin sink, storage cabinets, three towel rods and a standup shower. Rooms come with two desks and chairs, two small dressers, loftable and bunkable Twin XL beds, a closet with shelving and rod, one MicroFridge with microwave, and resident-controlled air conditioning and heat. All furniture is moveable. The hall sits near the Recreational Sports Center and Cypress Bend Cafe.

What it costs (2026–27)
Do not buy a mini-fridge or microwave for UT Austin. UT’s hall pages list one MicroFridge — a combined fridge and microwave unit — furnished in every room, two in the Duren quads. It is one of the few campuses we cover that does this. Spend that budget on bedding and storage instead.

This rate is not comparable to a room-only rate. UT’s figure bundles the room with an unlimited dining-hall meal plan, $400 Dine In Dollars per term, internet and laundry — so set it against another school’s room plus board, never its room alone. Rates exclude applicable sales tax, and UT notes the 2026–27 figures are subject to review and final approval.
