Before you buy anything: what is actually true at UC San Diego
A generic college checklist will cost you money here. These are UC San Diego’s own published room measurements and rules — check them before you order.
Room size and rugs
Rooms measure about 500 sq ft (Undergrad Neighborhoods). At the small end a 8×10 rug is the largest that leaves walking room — measure before ordering anything bigger.
Bed and bedding
Twin XL — UCSD tells residents to bring bedding for an extra-long twin (36×80); some college pages quote 35×80 or 38×83 frames. Retail Twin XL (39×80) is the correct buy everywhere on campus.
