Before you buy anything: what is actually true at University of Colorado Boulder

A generic college checklist will cost you money here. These are University of Colorado Boulder’s own published room measurements and rules — check them before you order.

Room size and rugs

Rooms measure about 100 sq ft (Aden Hall). At the small end a 4×6 rug is the largest that leaves walking room — measure before ordering anything bigger.

Bed and bedding

Not uniform. The residence hall furniture specification lists the mattress as 38" x 80" — a true standard Twin XL — and hall pages confirm “XL twin mattress.” But the apartment-style buildings put FULL-size beds in single rooms: Bear Creek, Weber Hall and Code Talker Hall all publish a full-size bed Do not buy Twin XL sheets here.

Fridge and microwave

Provided — a Microfridge AND a microwave come in every residence hall room. Do not buy either. Bear Creek even lists a free Microfridge per unit on top of the apartment’s full-size refrigerator and microwave. Additional refrigerators and personal microwave ovens are explicitly banned, so no cubic-fo Do not buy a fridge for this campus.

Already in your room

Do not pack duplicates of these: Per resident: a bed and mattress, a dresser with at least two drawers, a desk and chair, a wardrobe or closet, a lockable desk drawer, and trash and recycle cans.
