University of Notre Dame Off-Campus Housing Guide (2026)

Notre Dame requires six semesters on campus, so off-campus living is a senior-year thing — students typically sign leases in fall of junior year.

Where students live

The Eddy Street Commons corridor just south of campus, and the cluster of communities and rental houses north/northeast (Irish Row, Irish Flats, Legacy Village, The Bend).

A mix of walkable new builds at Eddy Street and per-bed student communities a mile or two north. Furnished and unfurnished both exist — check each property.
