Where students live
Glassboro’s student market has an unusual shape, because the buildings that look like the obvious off-campus choice are not really off campus at all. The Rowan Boulevard corridor — 220 Rowan Blvd, 57 North Main and 230 Victoria, marketed as Nexus — is contracted, priced and billed through Rowan’s own Bursar at the institutional rate, so moving there is a housing assignment, not a lease. The genuine market is further out: Higgins Drive and the Hollybush area hold Whitney Crescent and Hollybush Gardens, Mullica Hill Road holds The Crossings, and High Street East, about 1.8 miles out, holds Park Crest Village. Glassboro Cornerstone rents furnished rooms downtown but does not publish rates.
Heads up — this school breaks the usual rules
- Rowan bans air conditioners of every kind, with no exceptions — window units included. Fans only, in every building. This is stated flatly in the housing policy rather than hedged.
- Bunk beds and lofted beds are neither permitted nor offered — except in rare temporary cases. Under-bed clearance maxes out at 32 inches, so under-bed storage has a hard ceiling here.
- Traditional halls supply a MicroFridge and ban personal fridges and microwaves — its capacity is never published. The apartments and Nexus units have a full fridge, freezer and stove but no microwave — bring your own there.
- Extension cords, adhesive-mount string lights, nails, screws and double-sided tape are all banned — wall décor is capped at 50% of the wall surface. Breaker-protected power strips are fine; multi-plug adapters are not.
- The Rowan Boulevard buildings are not a cheaper alternative — they bill at $6,938 a semester for a single bedroom, through the university, so they compete with the dorms rather than with the rental market.
- Breaking the live-on rule can lead to suspension — the requirement covers full-time unmarried undergraduates under 21 with fewer than 58 credits. The penalty is a forced move-in plus a full semester’s room rent, with registration holds, and refusal can escalate to suspension.
Buying the standard college checklist here will waste money — check your building first, and do not budget for a window AC unit.

| 220 Rowan Blvd / 57 North Main Billed through Rowan’s Bursar — a housing assignment, not a lease. | Rowan Blvd | $6,938 per semester, single bedroom | Furnished | not published |
| 230 Victoria (Nexus) Also billed through Rowan. The property’s own site returned an error, so unit detail is unverified. | Rowan Blvd | $6,285.50 double / $6,938 single per semester | Furnished | not published |
Rents are 2026-27 asking prices gathered in August 2026. Three of these properties have no first-party website, and nexusglassboro.com returned an HTTP 429 when checked, so unit-level detail there could not be confirmed independently. Rowan charges no application fee or security deposit for on-campus housing, but cancellation fees run $750–$1,500.
How it compares to a dorm
On campus, a traditional double is $5,088 a semester, a single $5,948, and Holly Pointe $5,954 to $6,379. The meal plan is not bundled — it is mandatory only for first-years and for anyone in a unit without a kitchen, starting at $925 a semester for the 60 Block. Off campus, a 2BR at Whitney Crescent split two ways works out near $547 a month each, which over a twelve-month lease lands close to a year of dorm rent while giving you a kitchen and dropping the meal-plan requirement. The catch is the calendar: a Glassboro lease runs twelve months, a Rowan contract does not.
What you'll need
Rowan is unusually easy to shop for on campus, because it publishes its bed as 80 inches long by 36 inches wide, identical in every building including Holly Pointe. Off campus, that certainty disappears — an unfurnished Glassboro rental usually fits a Full or a Queen, so dorm sheets will not carry over. The MicroFridge you were given in the halls does not come with you either, and the apartments here have a stove but no microwave, so that is the one appliance worth buying first.
