Duquesne University Off-Campus Housing Guide (2026)

Duquesne requires freshmen and sophomores to live on campus or with family — students move off junior year.

Where students live

South Side Flats rowhouse shares (over the 10th St Bridge) and Uptown/Bluff walk-ups on the Forbes/Fifth Ave corridor are the two most popular; Oakland and Mt. Washington round it out.

This is overwhelmingly a conventional unfurnished rowhouse and apartment market at Pittsburgh's famously reasonable rents. Purpose-built furnished student housing (like SkyVue) sits in Oakland, shared with Pitt students. Duquesne runs a bulletin board rather than naming preferred buildings.

What you'll need

Most rentals here are unfurnished — budget for the big anchors: mattress, bed frame, sofa, and a table, split across the rowhouse.
