Before you buy anything: what is actually true at Texas A&M University

A generic college checklist will cost you money here. These are Texas A&M University’s own published room measurements and rules — check them before you order.

Room size and rugs

Rooms run from 56 sq ft (Hullabaloo Hall) up to 196 sq ft (Legett Hall). At the small end a 4×6 rug is the largest that leaves walking room — measure before ordering anything bigger.

Bed and bedding

36" x 80" frames with 36" x 77" mattresses โ€” not a standard twin and not a Twin XL. Twin XL is available by request only. White Creek Apartments, Gardens Apartments and Hullabaloo Hall single rooms use full 54" x 80" beds. Do not buy Twin XL sheets here.

Fridge and microwave

Bring your own for the halls โ€” nothing is provided. Fridge capped at 4.4 cubic feet including the freezer, microwave at 700 watts, and both are checked at fire-safety inspection. A rental service exists but publishes no pricing. Skip it entirely in White Creek and Gardens, which already have full ki Anything over 4.4 cu ft will be sent home.

Already in your room

Do not pack duplicates of these: A loftable bed frame, desk and chair, three-drawer dresser, bookshelves and a closet per resident, plus individually controlled air conditioning and blinds. The rate covers natural gas, cable, electricity, internet, recycling and free laundry โ€” not coin-op. White Creek and Garden
