Community Guidelines

Elevate My Dorm is a community of designers, dreamers, and roommates-to-be. These guidelines exist so the space stays generous, inspiring, and safe — the kind of place worth coming back to.

Be a good neighbor
Treat other designers the way you’d treat someone helping you carry a futon up three flights of stairs. Share encouragement freely. Disagree with the design, never the designer.
Critique is welcome — cruelty isn’t
Constructive feedback is part of the magic here. “Have you tried moving the desk under the window?” belongs. “That looks ugly” doesn’t. The line is whether your comment helps someone make a better design.
Keep it your own work
The designs you submit to contests, polls, and the gallery should be your own creations within Elevate My Dorm. Re-uploading another user’s published design as your own is grounds for removal and forfeit of any earned credits.
No vote rigging or referral abuse
Contests run on real votes from real accounts. Sock-puppet accounts, vote brigading, paid voting rings, and self-referral chains all result in disqualification and may end with account termination. We monitor patterns.

- Sexual content or designs intended to be sexually suggestive.
- Threats of violence, self-harm encouragement, or doxxing.
